Prenatal Navigation
Support from early pregnancy through delivery. We help select providers, understand prenatal testing options, navigate complications if they arise, and prepare for birth.
Birth Planning
Guidance on birth preferences, hospital selection, and delivery options. We help expecting parents understand choices and communicate preferences to their care team.
High-Risk Pregnancy Support
Intensive support for pregnancies with complications. We coordinate specialist care, ensure monitoring happens, and provide extra support during stressful situations.
Postpartum Coordination
Support doesn't end at delivery. We help with newborn care navigation, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding support resources, and managing the transition to parenthood.
What is Birth & Maternity Support?
Birth & Maternity Support is comprehensive navigation through pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum care for expecting employees and their partners.
This isn't medical care—it's the support layer that helps families navigate medical care effectively. From selecting an OB or midwife through postpartum recovery, we guide families through decisions, coordinate care, and advocate for their preferences.
Maternity is both a routine process (most pregnancies are healthy) and a complex journey (with countless decisions and potential complications). Our support is calibrated to what each family needs.
Why Does Maternity Navigation Improve Outcomes?
Most employers renew their health plans year after year without questioning the underlying assumptions. Brokers present options, carriers set rates, and leadership approves budgets based on incomplete information.
The result? Companies overpay for benefits employees don't use while missing coverage gaps that create real risk. They accept premium increases as inevitable rather than addressable. They lack visibility into where their money actually goes.
A Healthcare Risk Assessment changes that. It gives you the data and insight to make informed decisions, negotiate from a position of strength, and take control of one of your largest operating expenses.
How It Works
Maternity support activates when employees notify us of pregnancy and continues through postpartum.
Pregnancy Notification
When an employee or their partner becomes pregnant, they notify Weltrio to begin maternity support. Earlier notification enables more comprehensive support.
Prenatal Support
We help select providers, understand prenatal care recommendations, navigate testing decisions, and prepare for birth. For high-risk pregnancies, we coordinate specialist care.
Birth Preparation
As delivery approaches, we help with birth planning, hospital preparation, and communication of preferences to the care team.
Postpartum Care
After delivery, we support newborn care navigation, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding resources, and the overall transition to parenthood.
When Should Employees Engage Maternity Support?
As early as possible. Ideal engagement begins:
• First trimester—helps with provider selection and early care establishment
• When pregnancy is confirmed—even before first prenatal visit
• When complications arise—we intensify support for high-risk situations
Employees who notify us late still benefit from support, but earlier engagement enables more comprehensive navigation.
Where Does Maternity Support Apply?
Maternity support applies wherever pregnancy care occurs:
• OB/GYN and midwife offices for prenatal care
• Hospitals or birth centers for delivery
• Home births with appropriate coordination
• Specialist offices for high-risk care
• Home settings for postpartum recovery
We coordinate across all settings involved in maternity care.
Who Qualifies for Maternity Support?
Pregnant employees and partners of employees:
• Employees who are pregnant
• Partners/spouses of employees who are pregnant
• Adoptive parents awaiting placement (modified support)
• Surrogate pregnancies (coordination support)
Support is available regardless of pregnancy complexity—from routine to high-risk.

Is this the same as telemedicine?
No. Clinical support provides guidance and triage, not diagnosis or treatment. We help employees decide when and where to seek care. How many nurses will be assigned to our company?
Assignment depends on your company size and typical utilization. Smaller companies may share a primary nurse with backup coverage. Larger organizations get dedicated teams. Either way, employees experience consistent relationships with clinical professionals who know them.Who answers calls in the middle of the night?
Board-certified nurses from your Weltrio clinical team. We staff night shifts with experienced nurses who have full access to your company's benefits information and employee interaction history. It's not an outsourced answering service. What protocols do nurses use for triage?
Our nurses use evidence-based clinical decision support protocols developed from emergency medicine and primary care best practices. These protocols are regularly updated based on current medical guidelines and are customized for telephone/virtual assessment settings. How much does an unnecessary ER visit actually cost?
Average ER visits cost $2,200 or more—even for minor issues. Add lab work, imaging, or specialist consultation and costs climb quickly. The same conditions treated at urgent care typically cost $150-300, and telehealth visits run $50-75.
